Dr Anand Kumar Shanmugasundaram is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Proprietor of Shanvi Mind Care and Deaddiction Centre. He has been practising psychiatry since 2010, gaining extensive clinical experience across diverse mental healthcare settings.

He has worked extensively in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services across India and Oman. In 2022, he attained the prestigious MRCPsych qualification (Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom) and also holds a Diploma in Older Adults’ Mental Health from the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK.

He has also served as a Specialist Psychiatrist within the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom, further enriching his international clinical experience.

Dr Anand Kumar has broad expertise across multiple psychiatric subspecialties, including General Adult Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry, and Addiction Psychiatry.

In addition to his expertise in psychiatric assessment and pharmacological management, he has extensive experience in psychotherapy and psychological interventions, adopting a holistic, patient-centred approach that integrates evidence-based psychological therapies with medical treatment.
