Dr Veni, a gold medallist in DM (Neuro), is the consultant neurologist in Rockfort Neuro Centre at Tiruchirappalli. She did her DM (Neurology) in the prestigious Madras Institute of Neurology, Chennai. She got her training in NIMHANS for neuropathology and NIMS for neurocritical care. She adds more to her knowledge by training for electrophysiology in Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology. She gives her active participation in making people aware of neuro-related conditions and makes everyone realize that “Prevention is better than cure”. She is a multi-faceted person with active roles as an author, teacher, and social activist. She gives guest lectures and periodical campaigns on healthy lifestyle choices and free screening tests in rural areas. She holds the larger vision to relieve people from neurological issues, especially stroke. This vision led her to write the book Moolai Ennum Moolavar – Pakkavathathaiyum Vellalam, which discusses stroke and its prevention. Dr Veni has a strong social vision and continues to create awareness about stroke and healthcare through lectures, meetings and YouTube. Her awareness extends to media such as in journals, dailies, magazines, radios and television.

OUR SERVICES
An EEG detects the electrical activities in the brain. EEG helps to diagnose the patients who suffer from fits, jerks, up rolling of eyes, abrupt unprovoked fall, head injury, sudden transient loss of awareness, sensorium, RTA (road traffic accident) with fits or loss of consciousness.
NCS measures the speed of the conduction of the impulses determining the damages of the nerve cells. NCS is for the patients who present themselves with burning feet, numbness of hands & feet, tingling sensation, unsteadiness while walking, which is worse during the dark. Pins and needle sensation of limbs, facial deviation, accidents, wrist drop and foot drop.
An evoked potential is an evoked response in specific patterns. These patterns observed in the specific part of the nervous system, in the human brain. These are for patients with vertigo, dizziness, hard of hearing, progressive vision loss, blindness, demyelination, memory disturbance, headache with visual problems, spinal cord problems.
RNS helps to measure the brain waves. Further, RNS helps to diagnose drooping of eyelids with diplopia or double vision, speech disturbances, swallowing problem, limb weakness with easy fatigability.
ENMG measures the response to the nerve’s stimulation. A needle is introduced into the muscle to study the muscle and nerve problems.
TCD is an ultra-sound technique that helps in measuring the blood flow inside the vessels. And, TCD helps to diagnose stroke (one side limb weakness) to study the blood flow of the brain. Twelve cranial arteries are studied. Detection of Carotid Artery Stenosis is possible. The risk of stroke possibility may be analysed by TCD.
